The Full Memoir Package is the most comprehensive option, designed to capture your entire life journey. This package includes interviews that cover your life before, during, and after your military service. Perfect for those looking to preserve their life’s full narrative for future generations.

We understand that this might be the first time you've even considered creating your memoir or recording any of your military experiences. We also know that you might be the loved one of a veteran rather than having served yourself. To help you, we've put together some downloadable resources.

Twenty five years in the Royal Navy left me with a host of ‘dits’ that were begging to be told. The DUCHESS interview-bot asks you a series of questions and lets you answer them at your own pace. It really is a like a fireside chat. I would ‘talk’ to DUCHESS (for talking is exactly what you do) for a few hours a week over three or four months. The Fireside Dispatches team swiftly turned around a hard-copy draft (with photos) for me to review and correct.
BIO
Sarah and Darrell, founders of Fireside Dispatches both have backgrounds working in Defence. We regularly interview serving military personnel to provide inputs to research projects, being inspired by the experiences that our interviewees have had.
These interviews led to us developing DUCHESS who is able to turn spoken interviews into text, throwing in some probing questions to encourage interviewees to expand on their responses. This technology was initially sponsored by the Royal Navy for post deployment Lessons Learned interviews.
With an interest in the personal experiences of military history and recognising the value of passing these on to become a part of family history, Fireside Dispatches was born.
Community Interest Company
As of August 2025, Fireside Dispatches is in the process of becoming a Community Interest Company, with the aim of supporting the serving military and ex-military community.
Any profit we make will be used to subsidise or make book packages available for free to those who have been identified as potentially benefiting from our service by military associations or charities.
